Morning People was written and recorded by Mason Lowe in 2020 and 2021.
 

Mason escaped to his basement to burn off the stress of work at a human services agency during a global pandemic.

 

"I had a lot on my mind and I dived into this work. This was a serious time, but the songs that came out are just poppy and fun. I don't know why.  I'm not sunshiny person."

 

The drummer for Seattle band Bread & Butter, Mason originally missed the camaraderie and collaboration, "but it was also a little intoxicating to follow every musical idea as fast they came up and far as they would go."
